DALLAS – NM State's Faith Aragon has been named Conference USA Player of the Week after powering the Aggies' (12–13, 3–0 CUSA) series sweep of Louisiana Tech with standout performances both in the circle and at the plate.
Aragon delivered across all three games of the series. Offensively, she went 5-for-11 (.455) with five runs scored, two home runs, one double and four RBIs, capped by a 3-for-4, three-run, two-RBI outing in the series finale. In the circle, Aragon appeared in all three games and dominated, going 3–0 with a 0.64 ERA across 11.0 innings, allowing just seven hits and one earned run while striking out 16. She opened the series with three scoreless innings and six strikeouts, added a scoreless relief inning in game two, and then secured the sweep with a complete-game, nine-strikeout performance in the finale.
Aragon leads the conference in complete games (7) and innings pitched (74.0), as well as maintaining her standing as fifth in the nation in strikeouts (97).
