LAS CRUCES, N.M. - NM State continues to strengthen its 2026-27 roster with the signing of forward Leopold Levillain, who joins the Aggies following his freshman season at Long Beach State.
Leopold Levillain | So. | F | 6-9 | Montpellier, France | Cholet Basket | Long Beach State
Levillain arrives in Las Cruces after appearing in 30 games and making 24 starts for Long Beach State during the 2025-26 season. He averaged 19 minutes per contest while posting 4.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, while shooting an efficient 57% from the field.
A strong presence on the glass, Levillian ranked second on the team in total rebounds with 150 on the year, including 44 offensive rebounds. His physicality, activity level and ability to create second-chance opportunities made him a consistent contributor throughout the season.
Levillain closed the year with one of his strongest stretches of the season, recording back-to-back double-doubles against CSU Bakersfield and UC Riverside. He first tallied 10 points and a season-high 14 rebounds against the Roadrunners before following with 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Highlanders. His 14-rebound effort marked a season best, while his 11-point outing against UC Riverside matched his season high in scoring.
Prior to beginning his collegiate career, Levillain developed with Cholet Basket in France, where he competed at both the U21 and senior levels during the 2024-25 campaign. In 19 games with the U21 squad, he averaged 9.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and more than one block per game while establishing himself as a reliable rim protector.
He also gained valuable experience in 10 appearances with the professional senior team, totaling 11 rebounds and three blocked shots while averaging just under eight minutes per contest.
