DALLAS – Coming off a gritty performance at Florida State on Saturday, a quartet of Aggies were recognized by Conference USA. Based on a vote of the media, NM State's Trey Hedden, Gabe Peterson, Ma'Kyi Lee and Carson Su'esu'e each garnered player of the week honors.
 
Quarterback Trey Hedden was named CUSA Offensive Player of the Week after a strong debut in which he recorded 272 passing yards and two touchdowns against Florida State. The junior from Tampa, Fla., finished the night 26-of-42 to post a completion percentage of 61.9%. His 272 passing yards marked the most by an Aggie quarterback in a season opener since 2017.
 
Additionally, among quarterbacks who played during Week 0, Hedden recorded the third-most completions and the fifth-most passing yards. He helped lead the Aggies on two 75-yard touchdown drives in addition to a 68-yard drive that resulted in a field goal. His two touchdown passes also match his career high and mark the 12^th time that he has thrown multiple touchdowns in a single game at the collegiate level.
 
Defensive End Gabe Peterson put forth a strong effort in the season opener to earn CUSA Defensive Player of the Week recognition. He logged seven tackles at Florida State to rank second on the NM State defense. He finished with 1.0 tackle for loss, including half a sack. His half-sack came on a third down in the red zone, forcing the Seminoles to settle for a field goal. He also added one quarterback hurry.
 
Ma'Kyi Lee picked up CUSA Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after a Saturday in which he posted the highest overall Pro Football Focus grade of any Aggie offensive lineman. This included an impressive 76.9 PFF pass block grade. This award comes in the season opener after a 2025 campaign that Lee missed nearly the entirety of due to an injury.
 
Lastly, tight end Carson Su'esu'e collected CUSA Freshman of the Week recognition. The redshirt freshman from Oakley, Calif., hauled in one pass for seven yards during the Aggies Week 0 contest at Florida State.
