2010 (Senior): As a senior, Yanes played in 14 matches and started in two contests for the Aggies. In the 8-0 win over Prairie View A&M (Aug. 29), she recorded three assists, which included her first-career assist. Yanes was the first Aggie to post three assists in a single match. On the defensive end, Yanes played in three Aggie shutouts in 2010. In her final season in the Crimson and White, she recorded 22 shots with eight shots on goal.
2009 (Junior): In her first season in Las Cruces, Yanes started in 18 matches and scored two goals for the Aggies. She ranked second on the squad in shots (35) and third in shots on goal (16). Yanes recorded her first career score, the game-winning goal, in the program’s first win, a 2-1 decision at Colorado State-Pueblo (Sept. 4). She scored with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to break a 1-1 tie. Yanes followed that performance with her second goal of the season in the next match at Air Force. She scored in the 51st minute, and the Aggies won the match, 3-2, in overtime.
Prior to NM State: Yanes was a defender from Santiago Canyon College, in Orange, Calif., where she led the Hawks to a pair of league championships and appearances in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) playoffs as both a freshman and sophomore. In her sophomore campaign, Yanes was a second-team All-OEC honoree after scoring five goals and supplying six assists. As a freshman, she was a consistent threat on the defensive end, while she provided six goals and six assists.
High School/Club: Yanes was a 2007 graduate of Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., where she was a three-year letterwinner. As a senior, the standout defender earned honorable mention all-league honors, and she was the team’s defensive player of the year. Yanes also played five years of club soccer for Platini Soaf and Gus Castaneda at West Coast Futbol Club.
Personal: Yanes is the daughter of Robert and Debby Yanes and was born in Mission Viejo, Calif. She is pursing a degree in Spanish.
