Las Cruces, N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team is set to take on the University of South Carolina as it travels One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C. on Friday, Oct. 21.
 
Friday's meet opens with reining beginning at 12 p.m. MT. Equitation over fences is scheduled for approximately 1 p.m., while horsemanship and equitation on the flat will run simultaneously around 2:15 p.m. Live stats for the event can be found here: Results.

"We look forward to a great day of competition against South Carolina.  They are a solid SEC team and we expect them to be a strong opponent at home, therefore our plan is to focus on having correct, polished, and confident rides all around. We have been fine tuning our practices the past two weeks and the team is ready," said head coach Robin Morris-Walters.  
 
NM State is coming off of the Willis Invitational which saw them split decisions with Baylor and South Dakota State. The Aggies (1-2) are currently ranked No. 10 and opponent South Carolina (2-1) checks in at No. 8 in the NCEA national rankings.
 
The Gamecocks hold a 7-1 series lead over the Aggies since their first matchup in 2007. The most recent battle saw NM State fall 12-8 on Feb. 1, 2014, in Las Cruces, N.M.
 
The team has a quick turnaround as they travel to Athens, Ga. to face off against Georgia and Tennessee-Martin, Oct. 22-23.
