Aggies Honor Seniors in Final Match at Home

The NM State women’s soccer team concludes the regular-season at 3 p.m. (MT) on Saturday, Oct. 29.


LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State women's soccer team wraps up its regular-season this Saturday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. when it plays host to UT Rio Grande Valley at the Soccer Athletic Complex. The Aggies will also honor Daniela Barraza, Gabby Campbell and Stephanie Petre after Saturday's contest for senior day.
   
SENIOR DAY
  • The Aggies will be honoring their three seniors in Daniela Barraza, Gabby Campbell and Stephanie Petre.
  • The three have combined for 166 total games played with Campbell leading the charge with 79 matches played heading into Saturday.
  • Both Campbell and Petre have scored four goals each in their career.
  • Campbell leads the three with 16 career points (4g, 8a) while Petre checks in with eight points (4g).
  • Campbell's three assists so far this season is tied for sixth in the single-season mark.
  • She is also fourth on the all-time assists list with eight, ninth in the points list (16), third in games played (79) and ninth in minutes played (4,275).
  • Barraza has seen action in 21 matches with a .333 shots on goal percentage.

  • Audriana Chavez netted her first multi-goal game this past Sunday when she found the back of the net twice at CSU Bakersfield.
  • Aileen Galicia also notched her first-career game with two assists in the same game, finding Chavez for both NM State goals.
  • New Mexico State is 3-4-0 when playing in its final regular-season match and 3-1-0 when playing those matches at home.

WAC TOURNAMENT

  • A win for NM State means they'll be the No. 5 seed and play on Thursday, Nov. 3, against the No. 4 seed at 6 p.m. (MT).
  • A loss or tie for NM State means that it will be the No. 6 seed and play the No. 3 seed at 3 p.m. (MT) that same day.
  • The WAC Tournament, which will be held in Kansas City, Mo., on the campus of UMKC all matches  live-streamed on the WAC Digital Network.
 
BATTLE WITH THE VAQUEROS
  • UT Rio Grande Valley is coming off a 1-0 double-overtime victory against Grand Canyon last weekend.
  • The Vaqueros enter this weekend's match with an overall record of 10-6-1 and 2-4-0 mark in conference action.
  • Sarah Bonney leads all players with 26 points (11g, 4a) while Andreya Barrera is second on the squad with 16 points (6g, 4a).
  • Bonney also leads the team with four game-winning goals while Barrera has three.
  • Diandra Aliaga (4g, 2a) and Elisa Espino (3g, 4a) round out the double-digit point scorers list with 10 apiece.
  • Kinga Szemik has played in 11 matches for UTRGV and owns a 0.73 goals against average to go with 39 saves while posting a 6-5-0 record.
  • Erica Gonzalez serves as the backup and owns a 0.93 GAA with 11 saves of her own and 3-1-1 mark between the pipes.
  • As a team, the Vaqueros are averaging 2.24 goals and have held opponents to just 0.76 goals per game.
  • Of the 38 goals for UTRGV, only nine have come unassisted.
