LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team is headed to Salt Lake City, Utah, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11, to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships. The five-day event runs through Sunday, with the winners earning an automatic spot at the ITA National Indoor Championships.

The 19-team tournament is hosted by the University of Utah at the Eccles Tennis Center. The teams in the mountain region includes Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Washington State and Wyoming.

In the top half of the singles bracket,
Vanessa Valdez opens up against Megan Poe from Idaho State while
Eli Arnaudova opens play against Wyoming's Sarsha Challa.
Quinty Janssen is scheduled to battle Idaho's Lucia Badillos while
Yadira Rubio squares off against the Vandal's Maggie Chen.

In the bottom half of the singles bracket,
Rebecca Keijzerwaard starts off against Idaho's Shion Watabe with
Lindsay Harlas closing out singles play for NM State against UI's Marta Magahaes.

Doubles action will also take player on the same day for teams. Rubio and Harlas will team up for NM State with Keijzerwaard and Janssen teaming up once again while Valdez and Arnaudova pair up for the first time this season.
