LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team couldn't get past UT Arlington ÂÂon Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center and fell 4-0.

The Mavericks were sharp out of the gate, blanking the NM State No. 1 doubles pair before clinching the match with a 6-3 victory on court No. 2.
Lindsay Harlas and
Gabrielle Joyce were leading 4-3 at No. 3 doubles when the doubles point was clinched.

NM State trailed UTA 2-0 in singles action when
Eli Arnaudova was bested by UTA's Anna Wichert 6-0, 6-1 on court No. 5.
Rebecca Keijzerwaard suffered the same fate at No. 3 singles and fell 6-0, 6-2 before the Mavericks claimed the match on court No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Vanessa Valdez was leading Astrid Gehre at No. 2 singles 6-3, 4-0 when the match was clinched by UTA while Harlas held a 6-3, 1-0 lead on court No. 6 as well.

NM State will get this upcoming week off before heading over to Abilene, Texas, where they'll face Hardin-Simmons (March 7) in a neutral match before squaring off against Abilene Christian (March 8).
