BOULDER, Colo. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team completed the first day of competition in 2017-18 on Thursday at the CU Invitational.

NM State's duo of
Vanessa Valdez and
Yadira Rubio dropped their match to Colorado's team 6-4. The Aggie Dutch duo of
Rebecca Keijzerwaard and
Quinty Janssen were bested by New Mexico's pair 6-2 while
Lindsay Harlas and
Eli Arnaudova fell 6-2 against UNM's pair as well.

In the second round of doubles action, NM State had a pair of its teams fall to Oklahoma. Meanwhile,
Helena Colvee and Rubio dropped their match against UNM's Natasha Munday and Danielle Quevedo 6-2.

Day two of the CU Invite begins Friday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. (MT) with two rounds of singles play before closing out the day with doubles.
