LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State women's basketball head coach Brooke Atkinson announced the signing of forward Shania Harper on Wednesday.
 
"Shania is great sign for us, comes from a great family and is an outstanding young woman," said Atkinson. "Shania has that out work you, blue collar mentality.  She also has a high motor and huge upside and we're excited to see what she can do in the Crimson and White."
 
The Las Vegas, Nev., native attended Sierra Vista High School where she averaged a double-double her sophomore and junior seasons. Harper is an excellent rebounder, pulling down 17 double-doubles in her high school career. She can also score, notching eight 20+ point games thus far in her high school career including a personal-best 28 in a game against Clark High School during the 2016-17 season.
 
Harper is set to join the Aggies for the 2019-20 season.
