SPOKANE, Wash. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team completed its fall slate on Sunday at the Stevens Center as part of the Gonzaga Invitational.

The Aggie duo of
Chloe Gavino and
Yadira Rubio notched the lone victory for NM State in doubles action when the two clawed their way past Idaho's Laura Spataro and Marta Magalhaes 7-5. The other two tandems for NM State fell 6-3 against their counterparts from Idaho.

In singles action,
Gavi Kalaga cruised past her opponent from Portland by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Neus Torregrosa continued her success in singles action on Sunday, edging out Portland's Anna Oberg 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
Harsha Challa took the first set over Emily Soares but ended up falling 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 while Rubio came back to force a third set in her match before losing a tight match 7-6, 4-6, 7-5.

New Mexico State now gets time to rest up and train into the winter break before hosting Western New Mexico on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. to kick off its dual season.
