MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Aggies opened the Bentwater Intercollegiate on Monday with a 20-over-par 596 effort, led by freshman Aidan Thomas' even-par 144 performance through the first two rounds of action.
 
Thomas is tied for 10^th place following his strong showing. The Albuquerque, N.M., native fired a one-over-par 73 in the first round before closing out the day with a one-under-par 71.
 
Fellow freshman Scott Rescigno is right behind him. He came in at seven-over-par 151 to tie for 27^th place.
 
Senior Niall Powell is tied for 32^nd at nine-over-par 153. Freshman Trey Diehl finished at 11-over-par 155, tying for 45^th.
 
Freshman Tyler Diehl rounded out the Aggie fivesome. He tied for 52^nd at 14-over-par 158.
 
NM State, currently sitting in seventh place, vies for the team title when the third and final round tees off tomorrow morning.
