MONTGOMERY, Texas – Freshmen
Aidan Thomas and
Scott Rescigno powered the NM State men's golf team through the final round of play at the Bentwater Intercollegiate.
The first-year Aggies each recorded their first top-25 finishes on Tuesday. Thomas tied for 14th at six-over-par 222, while Rescigno came in at seven-over-par 223, tying for 16th.
Senior
Niall Powell, meanwhile, tied for 35th at 13-over-par 229. Freshmen brothers
Trey Diehl and
Tyler Diehl rounded out the Aggie fivesome, firing a 16-over-par 232 and 25-over-par 241, respectively.
NM State carded a seventh-place finish as a team, combining for a 35-over-par 899.
The Aggies host their one and only home tournament of the year next week. The Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate tees off Monday, Oct. 14, and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 15, at NM State Golf Course.
