HOUSTON – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team completed day two at the WAC Championships on Thursday from the CRCW Natatorium in Houston. The Aggies are in fourth place with 196 points behind Idaho (197), Northern Colorado (209.5) and Northern Arizona (321.5).

"Today was a bit of a rollercoaster ride but we're ahead points-wise of where we were last year and headed into a big day tomorrow," said head coach
Rick Pratt. "Our IMers were great today with everyone making personal-bests.
Alix Knagg was incredible after fighting through an injury to win the consolation final. Our seniors have been great and our freshmen are starting to loosen up."

The first final of the night to feature an Aggie was the 1m dive with
Raina Brommer representing NM State after a second-place finish in the 3m last night. Brommer battled but ultimately finished in fifth with a score of 267.50.

The first swimming final of the evening featured the Aggie squad of
Neza Kocijan,
Airam Oliva-Aun,
Lauren Hemburrow and
Anabel Ivanov in the 200 Free relay. Despite posting a school record 1:33.55 in the race, the NM State team finished up in seventh.

Senior
Lauren Wood also qualified for an A Final in the 200 IM. After finishing fourth in qualifying, Wood finished the final in 2:03.06 which placed her in sixth-place.
Neza Kocijan the earned a spot in an A Final after posting a fifth-place finish (23.21) in the preliminary round of the 50 Free. The freshman ultimately finished in fifth after recording a time of 23.26 in the final.
