ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico State women's tennis team rallied Friday afternoon against Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico, but ultimately fell short 5-2 at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium.
Doubles action saw
Rebecca Keijzerwaard and
Chloe Gavino falling to their counterparts on court No. 3 6-4.
Lindsay Harlas and
Yadira Rubio had Natasha Munday and Bronte Murgett on the ropes but fell in the tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3), giving the Lobos (11-8) the 1-0 advantage.
Singles Action saw UNM take a 2-0 lead early on when Gavino was bested 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 6 position before Harlas fell 6-1, 6-2 on court No. 2.
