Head coach Brooke Atkinson adds two junior college transfers for 2019-2020 campaign.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team and head coach Brooke Atkinson announced the addition of Amanda Soederqvist and Myke Gray for the 2019-20 season.
 
"We are very excited to add Mychaell and Amanda to our team," said Atkinson. "Both come from junior college programs with winning cultures and great coaching staffs. They are long, position-less athletes who will be able to guard and play multiple positions for us."

2018-19 (Odessa College): Helped guide Odessa to the NJCAA Region V championship and the NJCAA Elite Eight…dropped a career-high 23 points at South Plains on March 8…averaged 7.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game...earned Academic Award of Excellence for second-straight year.
 
2017-18 (Odessa College): Led Lady Wranglers to the NJCAA Region V championship…scored a season-high 17 points to go with a career-high 10 rebounds in a loss to Howard on Jan. 18…recorded 6.8 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game…received Academic Award of Excellence. 
 
Personal: Daughter of Charlotta and Joakim Soderqvist…has a younger sister, Matilda…majoring in Sociology and Psychology.

2018-19 (Independence CC): Led Independence to a 19-10 record…scored a career-high 20 points to go with a career-high 11 boards in a home win over Cowley on Feb. 2…recorded 9.6 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 40.4-percent from three.
 
2017-18 (Independence CC): Guided Independence to a 26-7 record and an appearance in the NJCAA Region VI championship game…averaged 8.8 points and 4.1 rebounds on the season.
 
High School: Attended Cedar Ridge High School…averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 57-percent from three, 62-percent from two and 87-percent from the free throw line…named First Team All-District after 2016 and 2017 seasons…earned All-District honorable mention after 2016 season.  
 
Personal: Daughter of William and Misty Gray…has two younger siblings, Paetynn and Braelynn…majoring in Sociology.
