STANFORD, Calif. – The 2018-19 New Mexico State women's tennis team saw its season come to a close Saturday afternoon when it fell to No. 3 Stanford 4-0 in first round action of the NCAA Tournament at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
"I am extremely proud of this team and the way they have battled through several tough matches this season," said second-year head coach
Emily Wang. "Stanford is an immensely talented team. Everyone gave it their all today and we have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to. I want to thank our seniors,
Lindsay Harlas and
Yadira Rubio, for a wonderful career at New Mexico State. I also want to thank our volunteer assistant coach,
Strahinja Trecakov, for everything he has done for the team this year."

Â
Keijzerwaard then took a 4-3 lead over Gordon while Gavino battled back to get within 5-2 of Madurawe to keep the Aggie hopes alive. However, Madurawe clinched the match and ended NM State's season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Gavino on court No. 6 after the break.
Â
The Aggies bid farewell to a pair of players in Harlas and Yadira, who helped NM State post a seven-game improvement from last year's squad to finish 15-10 overall this season. The 15 wins marks the first time the program has notched that many wins since going 17-6 in 2001-02.
