SAN ANTONIO – The NM State men's golf team completed the first and second rounds of the Lone Star Invitational Monday. Senior
Niall Powell sits among the top 25 in the leaderboard through the first 36 holes of play after firing a five-over-par 149 on the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.

Powell began his day with a three-over-par 75 in the first round before shooting a two-over-par 74 across his final 18 holes. The native of Drybrook, England, is tied for 23
rd entering the third round.

Fellow senior
Tanvir Kahlon followed closely behind Powell, finishing at six-over-par 150 and tying for 27
th place. Freshman
Scott Rescigno, competing in his first collegiate tournament, came in at seven-over-par 151 to tie for 36
th.

Sophomore
Cameron Gambini and freshman
Trey Diehl rounded out NM State's fivesome. Gambini fired a nine-over-par 153 to tie for 42
nd, while Diehl is tied for 59
th at 13-over-par 157.

Freshman
Cole Grossl, participating as an individual in his first collegiate tournament, came in at 18-over-par 162. The Aggies are tied for ninth as a team, shooting a combined 27-over-par 603.

Tomorrow's final round tees off at 7:30 a.m. (MT) tomorrow with a shotgun start.
