COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – NM State men's golf senior
Tanvir Kahlon started his 2019-20 campaign in impressive fashion Friday, shooting a one-under-par 71 in the first round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Blue Course of the Eisenhower Golf Club.

Kahlon, tied for 13
th place after the opening round, led the way for the Aggies, who sit in 15
th place (300, +12) through the first 18 holes. Senior
Niall Powell followed closely behind Kahlon, firing an even-par 72 to tie for 19
th place.

Freshman
Trey Diehl shot a six-over-par 78 in his first collegiate round, while senior
Ryo Harada came in at seven-over 79. Freshman
Aidan Thomas, competing as an individual, shot a two-over-par 74, and sophomore
Garrison Smith rounded the NM State's group with an eight-over-par 80.

Round two of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational tees off at 7:30 a.m. (MT) Saturday, Sept. 7. The final round is Sunday, Sept. 8, starting at 7:15 a.m. (MT).
