COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – NM State men's golf senior Tanvir Kahlon started his 2019-20 campaign in impressive fashion Friday, shooting a one-under-par 71 in the first round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Blue Course of the Eisenhower Golf Club.
 
Kahlon, tied for 13^th place after the opening round, led the way for the Aggies, who sit in 15^th place (300, +12) through the first 18 holes. Senior Niall Powell followed closely behind Kahlon, firing an even-par 72 to tie for 19^th place.
 
Freshman Trey Diehl shot a six-over-par 78 in his first collegiate round, while senior Ryo Harada came in at seven-over 79. Freshman Aidan Thomas, competing as an individual, shot a two-over-par 74, and sophomore Garrison Smith rounded the NM State's group with an eight-over-par 80.
 
Round two of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational tees off at 7:30 a.m. (MT) Saturday, Sept. 7. The final round is Sunday, Sept. 8, starting at 7:15 a.m. (MT).
