Maude Boily-Dufour captures second individual title, 400 Free Relay sets school record on final day of WAC Swimming Championships.

ST. GEORGE, Utah – Maude Boily-Dufour won the 200 back and the 400 Free Relay squad broke the school record as the Aggies closed the gap between themselves and first-place NAU on the last day of the WAC Championship swimming program.

"I'm so proud of our team, staff and administrators," said head coach Rick Pratt. "This weekend was not perfect by any means, but our team put everything into their performances not just for themselves but for each other.  It was so much fun to watch them battle things out and despite the final scores we accomplished much as a team and the future is bright for our program.  That school record at the end of the meet was an incredible sign of the character of our team.  We're close to bringing home a tittle and this season will motivate us to keep improving."

After winning the 100 Back last night, Boily-Dufour captured her second gold medal at WAC Championships with a 1:57.65 in the 200 back to sweep the backstroke events.

Jordan Andrusak also came through for NM State with a podium finish in the 200 breaststroke. Her time of 1:16.53 was good for third place.

Then, in the final event of the swimming portion of WAC Championships, the 400 Relay team set a school record with a time of 3:22.80. The squad of Aimee Burton, Airam Oliva-Aun, Lindsay Puhalski and Neza Kocijan finished second to Northern Colorado.

With the swimming portion of WAC Championships wrapped up, the Aggies trail NAU by just eight-and-a-half points. NAU sits at 572.5 points with NM state at 564.

The Aggie divers will now try to further close the gap with WAC Diving Championships from Feb. 25-27 at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. Following the diving portion, scores will be totaled and a champion will be named.
