LAS CRUCES, N.M. - For the second time in 2021, the NM State men's golf team will hit the links.
The Aggies head to Laredo, Texas, and will be one of 19 teams taking part in the Border Olympics hosted by the University of Houston on Monday and Tuesday.
THE FIELD
• NM State joins other tournament competitors, Houston, Abilene Christian, Baylor, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Houston Baptist, Illinois State, Kent State, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico State, Rice, Sam Houston State, Texas, Texas A&M, ULM and UTSA.
THE HISTORY
• NM State's last time competing in the Border Olympics came in March of 2019. That year the Aggies posted a 12th-place finish led by Mike McGlinton's 72-71-71—215 (-1). McGlinton's score was good enough for a 19th-place finish.
THE FIVESOME
• NM State will send Aidan Thomas, Garrison Smith, Joseph Robson, Matthew Jackman and Scott Resicgno to Laredo Country club Monday morning.
