FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.  – The New Mexico State diving team posted a pair of top-eight finishes on the 1-meter during the second night of Western Athletic Conference Diving Championships at Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. Following the diving events, scores will be combined with last week's swimming scores and a champion will be named.

"The girls dove outstanding today!" Diving coach
Miranda King said. "They both put together a very solid list in prelims to advance into the finals. The top-eight held some very strong competition and the girls held their own. Italia put together the strongest six dives I have seen her do in a while and hung in there with the best of the conference. Taylor was able to enjoy her last springboard competition as an Aggie. I am so incredibly proud of both of these girls for the work and determination they have to this sport. I am excited to see what they do tomorrow on platform as we round out the WAC Championship."

Both
Italia Aranzabal and
Taylor Jackson qualified for the 1-meter final after a sixth-place finish from Jackson in last night's 3-meter final. Jackson finished eighth in the 1-meter with a score of 211.65. Aranzabal put together a solid program to finish sixth with a final score of 236.05.
