New Home
On Feb. 1, NM State Athletics announced that both Aggie men's and women's basketball teams will play the remainder of their conference "home" games at Eastwood High School in El Paso, Texas. Eastwood's gym was newly renovated prior to the 2019-20 school thanks to a $430 million bond received by Ysleta Independent School District in 2015.

Previously, the Aggies "hosted" Grand Canyon in Phoenix in their only conference home series so far.

Scouting Lancers
In its third season as a D1 program, California Baptist is enjoying its most successful season since its transition. The Lancers are currently 14-0 and sit atop the WAC standings with a 6-0 conference record. Last season, the Aggies and CBU split their season series with NM state winning 57-56 in Las Cruces and California Baptist won 82-70 in Riverside.

California Baptist boasts a high-powered offense that averages 78.2 points per game to lead the WAC. CBU also scores efficiently, leading the league in field-goal percentage (.440)

Individually, four different Lancers average double figure-scoring led by Britney Thomas (13.4) and Caitlyn Harper (13.3). Senior point guard Ane Olaeta facilitates the Lancer attack, averaging 11.8 points per contest and dishing out 7.5 assists a game, which leads the WAC.
