LAS CRUCES, N.M. - An SEC transfer is making her way to the Land of Enchantment.
NM State head women's tennis coach Emily Wang announced Tuesday that sophomore Melissa Cartis is set join the Aggies' roster for the 2021-22 season and beyond.
The former Mizzou student-athlete will have three seasons of eligibility remaining upon arriving in Las Cruces.

• Through her lone season at SEC program Missouri in 2020-21, Cartis appeared on one match for the Tigers and did not play a part in her team's 4-0 win over Southeast Missouri State on Jan. 24.
• As a prep at York High School, Cartis amassed 102 total victories on the number-one singles line. A 2019 Illinois All-State choice, Cartis was ranked as the ninth-best player in the state that same year.
• Twice she was named her team's MVP (2019 and 2020) and the two-time team captain earned the title of York High School Female Athlete of the Year for the 2019-20 academic year.
