SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Looking to build on a solid start a week ago at the Gene Miranda Invitational in Colorado, the NM State men's golf program returns to action Monday and Tuesday, competing at the Long Star Invitational hosted by UTSA at TPC San Antonio.

The 13-team field features four schools ranked in the top-100 of the initial Golfweek rankings, including host UTSA who currently is ranked 39th overall. The opening round begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning while the second round gets going at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The third and final round is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

THE COURSE:
A par-72, TPC San Antonio is 7,435 yard in length and features two 600-yard par 5s on the front nine.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Aggies opened the 2021 fall season at the Gene Miranda Invitational hosted by the Air Force Academy. The 21-team event featured a strong field that included UC Davis, Denver, UTEP, and Colorado. As a team, the Aggies shook off a tough opening day to finish in 11th place overall.

Aidan Thomas finished the weekend with back-to-back below par rounds (69, 71) to finish -2 overall, good for a tie for 14th overall. After firing an opening round 77,
Alvaro Morales rebounded in the final two rounds using a second round 71 to finish +5 for the tournament.

UP NEXT:
The Aggies return to action later in the week when they make the short trip to Albuquerque for the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by the University of New Mexico. The two-day event begins on Friday (Sept. 24) and finishes on Saturday (Sept. 25).
