AUSTIN – The New Mexico State soccer dropped a 4-0 decision to Texas at Mike A. Myers stadium in Austin on Thursday night. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Aggies who's record dropped to 3-1.

The Longhorns (1-2-1, 0-0 Big 12) got on the board early, with Olympic gold medalist Julia Grosso scoring Texas' first goal in the fifth minute. Texas quickly built on its lead with Lexi Missimo scoring in the 10
th minute. Grosso and Missimo would each score again, in the 24
th and 35
th minutes, respectively.

Bianca Chacon provided a spark off the bench for NM State, adding two shots, including one on goal, in the first half.
Kaitlynn Melton also provided a scoring opportunity with her shot in the 44
th minute saved by Savannah Madden.

The second half was a different story as the Aggies' defense regrouped and held the Longhorns scoreless for the final 45 minutes of action.

Makenna Gottschalk finished with five saves on the night while NM State recorded four shots on goal. The two sides played clean soccer, with only seven fouls handed out between the two teams.
