MARICOPA, Ariz. – As the final round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic drew to a close, the NM State women's golf team found itself in eighth place out of the 22-team field. NM State matched their best round of the tournament, shooting a 297 in Tuesday's round.
NM State finished just 13 shots out of first place when all was said and done. Santa Clara finished the tournament shooting 880 (+16).
Next week, the Aggies will head to Washington to compete in the Pacific Northwest Women's Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington.
Round Three
- Amelia McKee posted three birdies on the back nine holes to match Alison Gastelum with a team-best five birdies on the day.
- Both McKee and Gastelum finished in the top 20 for the tournament. McKee finished in a tie for 13th while Gastelum posted a tie for 20th.
- Three birdies from Meiji Tungprapunvong helped her finish with a 76 (+4) in Tuesday's final round.
- The Aggies finished in the middle of the pack for Western Athletic Conference teams in the Cowgirl Classic. NM State finished above Seattle U by four stokes after the three rounds were completed
