NM State will compete in eight states this season

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – On Tuesday, August 9, the NM State men's golf program announced their schedule for the 2022-23 season. Once again, head coach Mike Dirks and the men's golf program will host the annual Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, beginning on Monday, October 17. Details of the tournament, including the full field, will be released at a later date.

The men will kick off the 22-23 slate on Friday, September 9 at the Gene Miranda Intercollegiate, hosted by Air Force. After the trip to Colorado Springs, the Aggies will return to the home state to compete in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque. Aidan Thomas looks to defend his title after winning the event in his hometown last year.

After Albuquerque, the Aggies will return to Las Cruces to host Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate. Details on the NM State hosted event will be released at a future date. Following the two-day tournament, the Aggies will head to Oklahoma to live on Tulsa time for a few days. Competing in the ORU Invitational, the Aggies will conclude the fall season with the tournament that begins on Monday, October 24.

Following a three-month hiatus, NM State will open the spring season with a trip to Tucson to compete in the Arizona Intercollegiate.

Once again, the Aggies will compete in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, hosted by Houston. After a one-week break, the Aggies head to Sin City to battle in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate. With Louisiana hosting the event, this will be the first of two Ragin' Cajun sponsored events that NM State will participate in throughout the spring.

Beginning on Saturday, March 4, the Aggies will head to Scottsdale, Arizona to participate in the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Michigan. March concludes for NM State with a trip to the bayou. For two days, Dirks and company will take on the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, Louisiana on March 13 and 14.

With nearly one month between events, NM State will return to competition on Monday, April 10 with The Aggie Invitational. While The Aggie Invitational would be an apt name for a home tournament, NM State will head to Bryan, Texas to compete in the two-day event hosted by Texas A&M.

On Friday, April 21, the Aggies will begin their final preparations for the WAC Men's Golf Championship at the BYU Cougar Classic. After the trip to Utah, the Aggies will look to secure one last WAC Championship with their second trip to Nevada. The WAC will host the annual conference tournament at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City between April 28 and 30.
