PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – On the second day of the Golfweek Fall Challenge, freshman
Emma Bunch stole the show for the NM State women's golf team.Bunch caught fire on the back nine holes, birdieing holes 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 to go six-under in a seven-hole stretch.
In his first collegiate tournament, Bunch now sits in a tie for seventh place heading into the final day of competition. As a team, the Aggies move into fourth place with 18 holes left to play.
Steady as ever,
Alison Gastelum did not bogey in her second round in South Carolina. With four birdies on Tuesday, Gastelum carded a 67 (-4) and sits in a third place tie.
Looking to make move to help her team,
Valentina Origel carded a trio of birdies on the back nine. Going under par on holes 10, 12, and 15, Origel recovered from a tough start to the round, finishing at 74 (+3) on the day.
Round Two Notes
- Emma Bunch birdied seven times on the day to finish with a 67 (-4).
- As a team, NM State went four-under on the 15th hole with four birdies.
