DALLAS – The winning week keeps rolling for NM State men's golf as Javier Delgadillo has been named the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by Blenders Eyewear.
 
Delgadillo becomes the first Aggie in school history to be named CUSA men's golfer of the week. The sophomore from El Paso joins Emma Bunch, Alison Gastelum, and Angela Garvin on the women's side as players to win the weekly award.
 
This week, Delgadillo won the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, firing a 203 (-10) along the way. The win was the first of Delgadillo's collegiate career and helped lead the Aggies to a nine-stroke victory as a team. Delgadillo separated himself from teammate Alexandre Bauduin over the final round. Delgadillo birdied seven times in Tuesday's final round, including four consecutive between holes six and nine.
 
Delgadillo led all players at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate by firing 21 birdies throughout the tournament. The El Paso native also posted the lowest average score on Par 4s throughout the field, averaging just 3.85 strokes and shooting five-under throughout the tournament.
 
NM State will finish its fall season next week starting Monday, Oct. 23 at The Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts. Last season, the Aggies split The Clerico championship with South Alabama after shooting 580 (+12) as a team.
