NM State Heads to Las Vegas for First of Two Tournaments This Week

Following the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, the Aggies will go to Scottsdale to compete

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A busy week of golf for NM State gets underway tomorrow when the Aggies tee off at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, hosted by Louisiana. Following the three-day event in Las Vegas, the Aggies will head to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Michigan.
 
The spring season has not gone as planned for the Aggies thus far. In late January, the Aggies got underway with a 14th place finish at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate. Over Valentine's Day, NM State wrapped up the Border Olympics with a ninth-place finish.
 
NM State will kick off the Lake Las Vegas Invitational in a pairing with Kansas City and UAB. Competing as an individual, Joseph Robson will be paired with golfers from UAB and Rocky Mountain College.

The Field
Sixteen teams will descend upon Las Vegas for the three-day event including Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Kansas City, Kentucky, Little Rock, Long Beach State, Louisiana, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Pacific, Rocky Mountain College, South Florida, Stetson, Alabama- Birmingham and Winthrop.
 
Format
The Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate will be a three-day event, held at the Reflection Bay Golf Club. Each day of competition will feature 18 holes of golf.

Numbers to Know
3 – The tournament in Las Vegas is the third of the spring for NM State after competing in Tucson and Laredo, Texas.
2 – The Aggies will compete twice this week. Following the Lake Las Vegas Invitational, NM State will head to Scottsdale.
2 (Again) – This is only the second tournament in 2022-23 for NM State that features three rounds of 18 holes. Each other tournament thus far has been two days with 36 holes on day one.
