DALLAS – NM State women's golfer
Emma Bunch has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week; the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
The native of Lynge, Denmark, earned her first award of the year after taking home the individual title at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in Pawley's Island, S.C. This marks the sixth time in Bunch's career that she has won the award after winning five times during her sophomore campaign.
This week, Bunch posted a three-round score of 206 (-7) to clear the field by one stroke and win her sixth individual title in her most recent seven starts dating back to last season. Bunch's scoring hot start on Tuesday included four birdies on her first six holes to create enough separation to close out the tournament on top.
Ultimately, Bunch finished the tournament with an average 18-hole of 68.7 while finishing second in total birdies (15) among the 93-woman field. Bunch and the Aggies will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to Lubbock, Texas.
