LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State men's golf team will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday as they travel to Erie, Colo., to compete in the 14^th Annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational hosted by The University of Colorado at Colorado National Golf Club.
 
The three-round tournament will see teams play 36 holes on Monday before returning Tuesday for the final round of competition. Monday's round will begin with a shotgun format start at 8:15 a.m. MDT while Tuesday will get underway with a staggered shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
 
AGGIE LINEUP
The Aggies' lineup will consist of Aidan Thomas, Javier Delgadillo, Mateo Payan, Ethan Klose and Vari Mariscal. Last time out, Javier Delgadillo submitted a top-15 finish (T-12) to serve as the Aggies' top finisher as they competed in the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Aidan Thomas (T-17) and Mateo Payan (T-24) also secured top-25 placements among the 95-man field. Meanwhile, this will represent the first action for both Ethan Klose and Vari Mariscal this season.

THE FIELD
NM State will be joined in Erie by the host Buffaloes in addition to Air Force, Boise State, Central Arkansas, Colorado Mines, Colorado State, Creighton, CSU Fullerton, Denver, Northern Colorado, St. Mary's, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Valparaiso and Wyoming. There will also be nine individuals competing in a 104-player field. This field includes a ranked Utah program (No. 24) and a Colorado program that received one vote in the latest Bushnell/GCAA rankings.
 
THE COURSE
The tournament will take place at Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, which is located about 12 miles east of CU's Boulder campus. A seven-time winner of the "Best Golf Course on the Front Range," the championship layout boasts a 7,567-yard, par-72 configuration that opened in 2003 originally as Vista Ridge Golf Club. The course is spaced over 232 acres of land with strategically placed bunkers and lakes, and only two holes that run alongside each other.  The facility has hosted several top professional and amateur events, including two NCAA regional tournaments.
