Emma Bunch Receives Pair of Prestigious Preseason Honors

Junior named to Fall ANNIKA Award Watchlist and Golfweek’s Preseason All-America Team.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following a breakout sophomore campaign, Emma Bunch was recognized as one of the nation's top players entering the 2024-25 season. The junior landed on the Fall ANNIKA Award Watchlist while also earning recognition in the form of a spot on Golfweek's Preseason All-America Team.

The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is awarded annually to the top female Division I collegiate golfer base upon a vote of players, coaches and members of the college golf media. This year's list included 25 of the country's top golfers, including just three members from non-Power-Four programs.  Meanwhile, Bunch landed on Golfweek's Preseason All-American list as a member of the second team. Bunch was one of just 20 golfers to earn first or second team honors and one of only 25 total golfers to land preseason all-America laurels.

After a season in which she played a total of 33 rounds and averaged an 18-hole score of 70.2 strokes, Bunch was named to the Division I Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Second Team – becoming just the fourth golfer in program history to collect first or second team all-America honors while being the first to do so since Alena Sharp in 2002-03.

In the spring, Bunch was voted the Conference USA Golfer of the Week five times on her way to claiming CUSA Golfer of the Year and CUSA Most Improved Player of the Year honors.

Bunch and her teammates will officially open the fall season this Sunday when they travel to Pawley's Island, S.C., to compete in the Golfweek Magazine at Caledonia Golf Club. The three-day event will wrap up on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
