LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Men's Tennis is set to wrap up its fall season in Las Vegas, Nev., as it competes in the ITA Mountain Regional Championships hosted by UNLV. The event, taking place from Oct. 15-20, will feature top programs from across the Mountain Region in one of the most competitive tournaments of the fall.
Play will begin with qualifying rounds on Wednesday, followed by the start of main draw singles and doubles competition on Thursday.
LAST TIME OUT
NM State wrapped up its weekend at the Bedford Cup with strong performances, highlighted by Matias Rojas and Tobias Wallin, who shared the singles title in the Raptor Draw after advancing to the finals. The Aggies notched multiple singles victories across various brackets, including Holland Snell, who claimed the 3-4 playoff in the Lightning Draw with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Idaho's Amadike Chetanna. NM State also impressed in doubles action, as Snell and Lance Urlaub posted a 6-2 win over Air Force's Brown and Leaird, and Rojas and Wallin capped off their standout weekend with a 6-1 victory against Idaho's Lis and Paradis.
MAIN DRAW LINEUP
Representing NM State in the main draw of doubles will be the duos of Holland Snell and Lance Urlaub as well as Tobias Wallin and Matias Rojas, both of whom will look to make deep runs against elite regional competition.
In the main draw of singles, Wallin and Snell will take the court, while Urlaub and Rojas aim to advance through qualifying rounds to secure their spots in the main field.
LOOKING AHEAD
As the final tournament of the fall season, the Aggies will look to cap off their fall slate on a strong note before shifting their focus to the upcoming spring dual campaign. The event offers NM State an opportunity to test its progress and gain valuable experience against some of the best players in the region.
