DALLAS – NM State senior Itay Feigin and sophomore Tobias Wallin have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, as announced by the league office. The duo represents two of just seven men's tennis student-athletes in Conference USA to receive the honor this season and mark the first Aggies to earn the honor since 2019.
To qualify for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and participate in at least 70% of their team's matches. The award recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their combined excellence in athletics and academics.
A native of Ashdod, Israel, Feigin was a cornerstone for the NM State, consistently competing at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles. One of just three seniors on the roster, Feigin has posted a 6-13 singles record and a 6-5 doubles mark during the spring season. His campaign has been highlighted by earning Conference USA Athlete of the Week and Doubles Team of the Week honors during the final week of the regular season, thanks to a strong performance against Pratt Community College on March 20. He became just the second Aggie this season to receive either of those accolades.
Sophomore Tobias Wallin was a key contributor for the Aggies this season, primarily holding down the No. 2 singles spot. The native of Sweden owns a 10-10 record in singles play and an 8-10 mark in doubles. One of his standout performances came in a hard-fought three-set win over Texas Tech's Tyler Stewart, where he prevailed 7-5, 6-2, 6-2. Wallin also played a pivotal role in NM State's historic victory over Texas Tech by securing a crucial doubles win — a performance that earned him both Conference USA Athlete of the Week and Doubles Team of the Week honors.
