LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State women's soccer fans will finally get to see their team in action for the 2016 season beginning this Friday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. when the Aggies host Texas State in their home-opener. NM State then entertains Wyoming at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, before hitting the road once again.

QUICK HITS
- Fans in attendance at Friday's match can pick up a FREE women's soccer poster as well as a postgame autograph session with the team.
- New Mexico State has had different starting line-ups in all four of its matches this season.
- Freshman Reilly Marks made her first collegiate appearance last Friday against Valparaiso with 38:54 on the clock.
- Sophomore Mariah Baker made her first start of 2016 at midfield this past Sunday against UIC.
- Junior Holly Abdelkader's penalty-kick goal at UIC bumped her career-total to two, tying Daisy Hernandez (2010-13) for second all-time and trails the leader, Jazmin Cardoso (2009), by just one.
- Ashley Martin's 22 saves ranks her 39th nationally and tops in the WAC while her 5.5 saves per game is 66th nationally.
- This is the third-straight year NM State has started the season 0-4. The Aggies won their fifth game (at home) in 2014 and lost their fifth game (at home) in 2015 before picking up their first win in the sixth match of the season (at home).

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN!
- After a poll done by the team, senior Gabby Campbell and sophomore Dominique Rivera have been named the 2016 team captains.
- Campbell is the entering her fourth season with the Aggies and currently No. 7 on the all-time assists list and is atop the leaderboard for games with multiple assists.
- Rivera has been a staple on the Aggie backline since her return from Puerto Rico where she played on the Puerto Rican U20 Women's National team with current teammate and freshman Tuti Tirado.

AGGIES UNVEIL FALL UNIS
- NM State Aggie fans will have an opportunity to see the new Under Armour uniforms for football, soccer, volleyball, cross country and women's tennis on Thursday, Sept. 1.
- The social hour begins at 5 p.m. before the fashion show like unveiling of the uniforms begins at 6:15 p.m. inside the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on campus.
- Fans in attendance will also enjoy 25-percent off a single item at the event.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
- NM State trails the all-time series against Texas State 3-0 and is 0-1 when playing at home (2014). The Aggies are also 1-4-0 all-time against Sun Belt Conference foes.
- Texas State returns 18 lettermen while adding seven into the mix.
- The Bobcats are 2-1-1 entering Friday's match against the Aggies.
- Texas State started the season off 2-0 before falling to McNeese State 2-0 on the road and tied Houston at home.
- Texas State was also picked to finish sixth in a poll done by the league's head coaches.
- The Bobcats' leading point scorer, Lauren Prater, was named the Sun Belt Preseason Co-Offensive Player of the year after tallying 28 points (12g, 4a) in 2015 and earned Sun Belt Preseason All-Conference Team selections a year removed from landing on the second-team last season.
- Texas State is averaging 20.5 shots while allowing opponents just five per game despite a shooting-percentage of .049 compared to its opponent's .100.
- Prater (1g, 1a), Kassi Hormuth (1g, 1a) and Rachel Grout (1g, 1a) currently pace the team with three points apiece.
- Clarissa Leon is the only other Bobcat to have scored a goal while Jordan Kondikoff, Alyssa Phelan and Kira Zapalac tallied one assist.
- Heather Martin has started in 3-of-4 matches for Texas State but has only seen 135 minutes of action compared to Kathryn Budde who has started in only 1-of-4 matches she's seen action in but has seen the field for 245 minutes.
- Budde owns an .889 saves percentage while Martin owns a .750 saves percentage.

A LOOK AT THE COWGIRLS
- NM State leads the all-time series against Wyoming 2-0 with both matches taking place in Laramie, Wyo.
- The Cowgirls return all 11 starters from last year's team that went 10-6-4 and 6-4-1 in Mountain West play. They also returned 21-of-23 lettermen and added five freshmen as well as redshirt freshmen Cristina Salazar.
- Wyoming finished last year fourth in the MWC and is picked to finish in the same slot once again in a poll of the league's head coaches.
- Wyoming started the year off with a pair of wins over Houston Baptist (2-0) at home and against Idaho State (2-0) at home. The Bobcats then took Montana to 1-1 draw on their home turf before falling to Iowa 3-2 on a late goal in regulation in Iowa City.
- Junior Shaina Ashouri, the team's only double-digit point scorer last season, returns to lead an upperclassmen heavy team. Ashouri concluded last season with 25 points (9g, 7a) and four game-winning goals. However, she's been held to just one shot so far in four matches.
- Senior Katie Marcheso is the team leader so far with four points (2g) while sophomore Annika Clayton is second on the team with three points (1g, 1a).
- Junior Georgia Roundtree has started in all four matches for Wyoming and has allowed just four goals for a 0.95 goals against average to go with her 13 saves and .765 saves percentage. She's also registered two shutouts on the year.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Aggies did not have the weekend they were hoping for last week, falling to Valparaiso 2-0 before dropping a 4-1 decision to UIC.
- Holly Abdelkader recorded New Mexico State's first goal of the season at the 48:55 mark when she laced her shot into the back of the net to equalize the game at 1-1.
- Last week's match against Valpo and UIC was the first time NM State has faced off against either team.

LOOKING AHEAD
- New Mexico State gets back on the road the following week as it heads to Ogden, Utah, for a bout against Weber State (Sept. 9) followed by a road match at Idaho State (Sept. 11).
- The Aggies then square off against I-25 rival New Mexico (Sept. 16) on the road before returning home for a match against the Nevada Wolfpack (Sept. 18).
