LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team hosts Battle of I-10 rival UTEP at the Pan American Center on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. MT.

SCOUTING THE MINERS
UTEP comes to NM State with a 5-2 overall record this season. The squad started the year hot, winning its first four contests at home. However last time out, the Miners fell 76-73 in a hard fought battle at Arkansas State, which dealt the team its first loss on the road this season.
Tamara Seda leads the UTEP squad as she's started each game, averaging 11.6 rebounds and 16.0 points this campaign. The other Miner player averaging double-figures in points is Najala Howell, who posts 14.0 points per game this year.
New Mexico State holds a 48-37 series lead over UTEP entering the contest. In the last game between the teams, NM State came out victorious, crushing the Miners 67-59 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso. This win over UTEP during the 2017-18 season was the first time in 21 years that New Mexico State has beaten its Battle of I-10 and Battle of I-25 (New Mexico) rivals in the same season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies fell to UNM 101-93 in the second installment of the Battle of I-25.
Gia Pack led the way for NM State in the high-scoring contest when she posted a career-high 33 points.
Brooke Salas tallied 20 points and
Zaire Williams was the third New Mexico State player to record double-figures as she notched 19 in the loss.
