HOSTING THE MOUNT
When NM State and Mount St. Mary's take the field on Friday night, it will be the first meeting between the two programs. Friday will also serve as the season-opener for The Mounts after sitting out on opening weekend.

The Mount returns 21 players from last year's roster that saw the field, including five position players that started at least 35 games. Of the 21 players returning, Mount St. Mary's also has seven pitchers returning to the mound, but lost its top three starters.

Mount St. Mary's looks to improve upon last year's season that saw The Mount go 11-37 overall and 8-24 in NEC play. As the team, it batted .219 with a .292 slugging percentage and .305 on-base percentage. The Mount will have seven players with 10-plus hits on the year returning as well while 5-of-6 batters with 10-plus RBI come back as well.

LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies had a tough outing in Lubbock, Texas, as they squared off against a tough 21st-ranked Red Raiders of Texas Tech. Seven NM State pitchers combined to give up 16 runs, 13 of which were earned. Austin Botello and Joey Ortiz recorded the only two hits for NM State, both were two-baggers.
