LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team is back in action as it travels to Flagstaff, Ariz., to take on Northern Arizona in a Western Athletic Conference showdown on Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17.
"After a great stretch of training, this meet is a good opportunity to see some of that work pay off," said head coach Rick Prat "NAU is one of our biggest rivals, is always well coached and again has a strong squad. The challenge is to perform well after a long trip and in a hostile environment at altitude. The advantage is that this format will give us a chance for everyone to race all of their best events over three sessions and that NAU always brings the best out of or squad. Either way, we're ready to battle."
The meet is broken down into three sessions with two sessions on Friday, Nov. 16, and one on Saturday Nov. 17. The first session on Friday begins at 10 a.m. (MT) and consists of the 400 Medley relay, 500 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 100 Fly, 400 IM and 100 free.
The second session on Friday begins at 4 p.m. This session consists of the 200 Medley relay, mile and 200 Free. The meet wraps up Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. with the 200 Free, 100 Back, 200 Fly, 50 Free, 200 IM and 400 Free relay.
