KANSAS CITY, Mo. - As the season comes to a close, both the men's and women's squads can come away proud of their performances at the WAC Championships from Swope Park XC Course on Saturday.
The men's team placed 4th in the 8k run with a score of 74, while the women's team finished 4th in the 6k race with a score of 104.
Individually,
Michael Kirwa completes his spectacular first season with the Aggies with a 1st Team All-WAC selection as he finished 3rd overall, and first for the Aggies with a time of 25:00.51.
Iley Bruce earned a 2nd Team All-WAC selection, the first of his career, after finishing 13th overall with a time of 25:37.37.
Rounding out the top five for the men's team,
Anthony Molina finished 15th overall with a time of 25:42.42, while
Anekin Hetman and James McClain finished 16th and 27th with times of 25:51.02 and 26:13:24 respectively.
Jess Dominguez finished 11th in the women's 6k race, with a time of 21:57.78. Dominguez earned a 2nd Team All-WAC selection, her third of her career, and third 2nd Team selection.
Richelle Sandin crossed the line second for the women's squad, coming in 17th overall posting a time of 22:15.67.
Ocean Stevens finished third for NM State and 23rd overall with a time of 22:35.21.
Closing out the top-five finishers for the women's team are
Maggie Gibbs and
Anisa Burciaga, finishing with times of 22:50.03 and 23:00.05, placing 26th and 32nd respectively.
