HUMBLE, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf team wrapped up the first round of play at the All-American Intercollegiate on Sunday at the Golf Club of Houston. Through 18 holes, the Aggie squad has shot a 300 (+12) to sit in 13
th place.
Ryo Harada and
Mike McGilton who are tied for 16th after round one have led individual play on the NM State team. Each golfer shot a 72 (E) in the opening round. Harada leads the Aggies with five birdies and McGilton leads the team and whole tournament field with 16 holes for par.
Niall Powell shot a 77 (+5) and sits in 70
th.
Tadhg Campbell who fired a 79 (+ 7) to tie for 75th followed this. Rounding out the NM State starting lineup was
Garrison Smith who carded an 80 (+8) to sit in a tie for 79
th.
At the end of day one, the team leaderboard is led by Sam Houston State who posted a score of 283 (-5), followed by Baylor in second at 284 (-4) and host Houston completes the top-three at 286 (-2) after 18 holes.
