Aggies look to avenge last season’s second-place finish at WAC Championships with a conference title.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team is set to compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Houston starting Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m. (MT).

In the pre-championship coaches' poll, New Mexico State was picked to finish second behind Northern Arizona after finishing second at the WAC Championships a year ago. The aggies picked up 34 points, including two first-place votes from the league's coaches. NAU has won five-consecutive WAC Championships. Here is the complete coaches' poll.

Back-to-Back
New Mexico State swimmer Hanna McGowan has the opportunity to go back-to-back in both breaststroke events. McGowan, a senior from Tecumseh, Kan., swept the breaststroke championships a season ago, winning the 200 in 2:14.07 while finishing the 100 at 1:01.99.
 
 The Aggies are also looking to defend their championship in the 400 Medley relay after Alix Knagg, Hanna McGowan, Reagan Nentwich and Picabo Bender finished first with a time of 3:41.67.
