DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced its golfers of the week on Wednesday. Following a strong top-3 individual finish, New Mexico State's
Tadhg Campbell earned the WAC Men's Golfer of the Week honor.
Campbell was the top WAC golfer at the Big Texan Invitational, firing a 12-under-par 204 to take third place and lead the Aggies to a second-place team finish. The senior opened up the competition with a 6-under-par 66 and continued to play exceptional, carding a 5-under-par 67 in round two on the first day.
Then on day two for the third and final round, the Auckland, New Zealand native fired a 1-under-par 71. His average of 68.0 strokes per round was over six strokes better than his season average of 74.1 heading into the week. Campbell was also one of just three Aggies to record an eagle during tournament play at The Big Texan.
For the next tournament, the New Mexico State men's golf team remains in the Lone Star State for the Aggie Invitational, April 6-7, at the Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas.
