LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State track and field travels to Hobbs, N.M., for the Ross Black Invitational hosted by New Mexico Junior College from April 12-13.
During the Aggies last meets,
Hannah Smith came away with a first-place finish in the triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational when she posted a mark of 12.59m (41-3.75) on her final jump.
Julia Yescas took third in the 5,000m, running a personal-best time of 17:22.47.
Corinne Hanson (17:41.27) and
Crissey Amberg (17:46.90) followed closely behind in fourth and fifth, respectively.
At the Texas Relays, the 4x100m relay team of
Keosha Sanders,
Lashira Tremble,
Asjah Wallace and
Brooke Wallace came in 19th when the squad ran 46.61. The 4x400m relay of A. Wallace, B. Wallace,
Takiyah Johnson and
Lanie Whelpley clocked in at 3:51.14 for 27th place.
The long jump is set to start at 4 p.m. MT on Friday from the Ross Black Field of Champions. The running events begin with the 4x100m relay preliminaries at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the triple jump starts at 11 a.m. and the final for the 4x100m is set for noon.
