LAKEWOOD, Wash. –  The New Mexico State men's golf team sits in first place after one round from the Western Athletic Conference Championship at Oakbrook Golf Club with a score of 283 (-1) through 18 holes.

Ryo Harada and
Garrison Smith are the top Aggies on the scoreboard as the duo are tied for second after each fired a 69 (-2), one stroke behind California Baptist's Harrison Kingsley (-3). Smith and Harada both posted three birdies while both eagled on 9.
Niall Powell follows in a tie for eighth after he fired a 72 (+1) with
Mike McGilton one stroke behind in a tie for 15
th at 73 (+3).
Tadhg Campbell rounds out the starting lineup as he sits in a 19
th-place tie after recording a 74 (+3).

On the team side, Utah Valley sits behind New Mexico State in second place after it posted a 286 (+2) for the first round. Kansas City rounds out the top-3 with a 290 (+6). The Roos were voted by the league's coaches to win the championship in the pre-championship poll.
