LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team travels to Tucson, Ariz. for a midweek clash with Pac-12 challenger Arizona on Tuesday, April 30, at 6:05 p.m. MT on Hi Corbett Field. This is the second and final meeting of the regular season between the Aggies and Wildcats.

LOOKING AT THE WILDCATS
Arizona hosts NM State for the midweek game coming in with a 19-22 overall record. The Wildcats have lost six of their last seven games including a midweek loss to Grand Canyon, 11-9, on April 23.
The Wildcat offense has combined for a .300 team batting average with 157 extra-base hits, including 40 home runs and 343 runs scored. At the plate, the opposition is led by Matthew Dyer who has made 40 starts to compile a team-leading .399 batting average and .481 on-base percentage. Three other Wildcats starters average over .300 including Nick Quintana who leads the team with 10 home runs and 46 runs batted in.
Arizona's pitching staff holds a 6.66 earned run average and opposing bats are hitting .292 off of them over 355.2 innings pitched. Wildcat pitchers have combined for 291 strikeouts to 226 walks, while allowing 130 extra-base hits and 313 runs scored.

LAST TIME OUT
The NM State baseball team is coming off of a crucial three-game road conference series win over Sacramento State. After dropping game one to a heartbreaking walk-off, the Aggies bounced back to win the final two games and the series.
Aggie baseball opened the pivotal three-game Western Athletic Conference series against the Hornets on Friday night at John Smith Field. After carrying a lead into the ninth inning, the Aggies saw the Hornets clear the bases on a walk-off hit to right that handed the Crimson & White a 4-3 loss.
NM State then bounced back in game two after taking the lead on a second inning home run, the Aggies never let go on the way to a 12-4 win over the Hornets. For the finale in another game that came down to the last out saw the Aggies carry a one-run lead into the final frame and end the game with a strikeout for the 3-2 series finale win over the Hornets.
