BRYAN, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf team played in a shortened day one of action at the Aggie Invitational due to weather delays and darkness at the Traditions Golf Club on Saturday. At the end of an abbreviated round one, the Aggies squad combined for a 217 (+8) team total to sit in ninth place out of 13 teams, three spots and seven strokes ahead of Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico.
At the end of the shortened first round, NM State's play was led by
Cameron Gambini who sits in a tie for 12
th after shooting a 50 (-1). This was followed by
Ryo Harada who is tied for 32
nd at 62 (+2).
Mike McGilton has a cut short round one score of 54 (+3) and is tied for 41
st.
Tadhg Campbell is tied for 48
th at 51 (+4) and
Garrison Smith rounds out the Aggie lineup in a tie for 56
th at 61 (+5).
Following the postponed opening round the team leaderboard features No. 24 Baylor in first at 267 (-8), followed by No. 1 Oklahoma State in second at 270 (-6) and host No. 27 Texas A&M completes the top-three at 271 (-5).
