@NMStateSwimDive Named to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Aggies earn CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for 28th-straight semester.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The New Mexico State University swimming and diving team was named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association Scholar All-America team for the spring 2019 semester, the CSCAA announced Tuesday.

"We're really proud of our team's continued efforts in the classroom," said head coach Rick Pratt.  "We have had a long streak of team GPAs above a 3.2 and it says a lot about our culture and the academic support our athletes receive.  Athletics plays an important part of their educational experience and to balance both like they do is exceptional."

The CSCAA named 777 teams from 480 institutions across NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA to the Scholar All-America team, a new record. Teams qualified by posting a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester.

NM State achieved a 3.37 GPA during the spring 2019 semester, the 28th-consecutive semester in which the Aggies have recorded a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Under Pratt, New Mexico State has earned the honor every semester since the organization's founding in 2010.

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
