LAS CRUCES, N.M. - NM State head men's tennis coach Carlos Vargas announced the Aggies' 2021-22 fall schedule Wednesday morning. The 2021 WAC co-champions will see action in four states through the months of September and October as they prepare for the championship season in the spring of 2022.
In all, NM State will take part in four events through the fall of 2021 beginning with the Aggie Invitational this Friday-Sunday, Sept. 10-12. Hosted at the NM State Tennis Complex, the event features six teams including Abilene Christian, Arizona Christian, Lamar, NM State, Northern Arizona and Western New Mexico.
From there, the Aggies hit the road for their three remaining fall events. First up is a trip to Colorado Springs, Colo., on Thursday, Sept. 16 through Saturday, Sept. 18 where NM State is set to participate in the Bedford Cup in the Mountains hosted by Air Force. The ITA-sanctioned fall event typically features competitors from nearly a dozen NCAA Division I programs from around the country.
Following the Aggies' competition in Colorado, they travel to the campus of BYU in Provo, Utah, where they will take part in the ITA Mountain Regional. The five-day event (Tuesday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 25) is the first of 12 ITA regional meets around the country.
NM State wraps up the fall portion of its schedule with a trip to Tucson, Ariz., on Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3 to compete at the Arizona Invitational.
